Why ESSX? |
|
|
|
Poles have been a long time coming from
Richey. Finding a supplier who shares our values--that the
vaulter comes first, and that we're only successful as a company
when your kids are successful as athletes--was paramount.
And that was exactly the attitude the team at Xlogic Sports, the
manufacturer of the ESSX Pole, brought to the table. |
| |
| But it was more than just enthusiasm. The ESSX pole is
fabricated in the United States near Dallas, Texas, and the
fabrication process is unique to the ESSX pole. Everything
from the proprietary true rolling system they use to keep the
fibers of the pole in line, to the way they've incorporated a
special Heat Transfer Mineral Fluid Oil to keep moisture out of
the pole building process, makes the ESSX Pole the best on the
market.
|
| |
| But what's most impressive about their operation is its
transparency; from the open invitation to the public to tour
their facility to details about the manufacturing process that
they're willing to provide on their website, ESSX keeps the
customer informed and educated about its poles; because the only
reason to let people know how you do something is if it's the
absolute best way it can be done.

| Things only get better; shipping poles is a difficult
endeavor. Often times, in the standard cardboard tube, the
pole gets nicked or run-over or stepped on in the shipping
process. Many times, you cannot see this until the vaulter
is up on the pole and hears that familiar creak, or worse yet,
snap, of a damaged pole. ESSX poles, however, ship in
Schedule 40 PVC containers; not only is the pole
protected, but you get a case to store the pole in with the
pole. |
| |
| They've also done away with flex numbers; that is to say,
your pole will have a flex number, but instead of being, for
example, a 155 stiff flex pole, you pole will be rated exactly
what it flexes at, to the nearest 2.2 pound increment.
With other manufactures, 155 stiff means that you've got a 158
or 159 pound pole in your hands. By rating in smaller
increments, not only do you know exactly what pole you're
vaulting with, but the kid who loves his 155 stiff flex pole
knows that he's really got a 159, is ready to move to a 160 or
higher, and doesn't have to 'make weight' for a pole that is
really stiff enough to carry him if he weighs 156 pounds. |
